- Barbara is an internationally recognized
multidisciplinary artist, published writer and scholar with
a studio in Michigan. Her talk will surround the synergy of
creative processes in performance, visual art, writing and
research that she has refined and used to explore ideas, and
will include examples and video of recent and past work. Her

opportunity for AAWA members to do a presentation
of their work before their fellow artists. An email reminder
is sent to the
membership in time for anyone interested to contact Sue Iott
prior to the
February meeting. Depending on how many members express
interest,
everyone is assigned a 10-20 minute time slot to do a power
point
presentation and a brief talk about their work.

of AAWA. In February 2009 she was a presenter at AAWA
Member's Turn. She is primarily interested in the
relationship between human beings and the

Joanne Leonard
- Joanne will read from her latest book, Being in
Pictures,
and show her photography and photo-collage. She has a
distinguished record
of achievement as an artist, scholar and educator, and is
also a leader in the
University of Michigan’s academic development. Recognized
internationally
for her pioneering work in photo-collage, feminist issues
and visual culture,
she has earned the title Distinguished University Professor,
one of the U-M's
top honors and the first ever awarded to a faculty member in
